1. ~는 명백하다

It is evident that S + V / Evidently, S + V

-> It is evident that the defendant is guilty.

(피고가 유죄라는 것은 명백하다)

2. A와 B중 하나를 선택해야 한다면, 나는 ~을 선택하겠다

Given the choice between A and B, I would choose~

-> Given the choice between attending a large public university and a small private college, I would choose the public university

(큰 공립 대학과 작은 사랍 대학에 다니는 것 중 하나를 선택해야 한다면, 나는 공립 대학을 택하겠다.)

3. A와 B중 하나를 선택하는 것은 어렵지만, ~이다.

It is hard to choose between A and B, but S + V

->It is hard to choose between family and career, but for now my career comes first

(가족과 일 중 하나를 선택하는 것은 어렵지만, 지금으로선 나의 일이 최우선이다.)

*~ come first (~가 최우선이다 <--> come last)

4. 대체로, 내가 위에서 논의한 이유들 때문에 ~ 하는 것이 낫다.

By and large, it is better + to 부정사 for the reasons (that) I have discussed above.

-> By and large, it is better to work before attending graduate school for the reasons I have discussed above

(대체로, 내가 위에서 논의한 이유들 때문에 대학원에 가기 전에 일을 하는 것이 낫다.)

5. ~에 장점이 있을지는 모르지만, 나는 ~ 하는 것을 선호한다.

Perhaps ~ has its advantages, but I prefer + to 부정사

-> Perhaps using a digital camera has its advantages, but I prefer to take pictures with a regular camera.

(디지털 카메라를 사용하는 것에 장점이 있을지 모르겠지만, 나는 일반 카메라로 사진을 찍는 것을 선호한다.)
